Getting to Know the Music Room
This summer Kristen and Rob Chubbuck made a generous donation to our studio-- a 125 year old pump organ with original ivory keys which has been named Collette. She's the Countess Dowager of my collection (Downton Abbey reference for you fans). Students will have the opportunity to have a group lesson with her (along with the xylophone and accordion). Her strengths are rhythm and timing and pedal posture.
Over the summer, my three little Mozarts (ok, so they aren't exactly Mozarts) have had a great time experimenting with the difference between Collette and Henry. Even Bleu, the new kitty, has taken a liking to the musty warm interior of this sage instrument.
