Limited spaces for adult lessons may be available. Adult lessons are for casual players who may or may not have had lessons in the past. Lessons are geared to each individual based on their goals, time available for practice and skill level. The type of music we study as well as the way we approach your lessons will be based on your choices. Adults should have an instrument available for at-home practice.
What is an Adult Lesson Time like?
* When you enter the music room, your morning warm-up & sight reading exercise will be waiting on the piano. Take your time to relax and settle on the bench. Begin your assigned warm-up.
* After your warm-up, your teacher will join you. You'll chat about the time you spent on music throughout the week. Your lesson will be guided by this conversation. Adult lessons are approached differently as we have obligations that may not allow us to prioritize music in any given week. It's important to know where we are at the beginning of the lesson so that our time together can be both efficient and comfortable. Likely, we'll first focus on reviewing the lesson from the previous week.
* Once we've completed our review of the previous week's lesson, we'll introduce a new idea for the upcoming week. You'll receive your music guidance for the upcoming week. Your lesson time will last about 45 minutes.
* Adults do not participate in group lessons and may or may not choose to perform publicly.
